2017 came and went I feel like! As I write this, I am still wondering how time can fly so fast. I guess if you travel across the world a few times that tends to happen. I am so hashtag blessed to have travelled like I did for one year. This was the first year I really just said F*** it! Obviously every experience I had came with it’s own plusses and minuses but here are the top 3 destinations that blew me away. What do you think? Ready to add a few more spots to your bucket list?
1. Algodones Dunes (AKA Glamis dunes)- United States
Situated near the Mexico and Arizona border in California, these massive sand dunes really blew me a way! You basically have to drive through them if you take this specific route to get back to Arizona like we did. You go up a large hilly road to park and you are there. Gauthier (My Boyfriend), Atlas (My Australian Shepherd) and I frolicked on these bad boys like we were kids again. Sand blew around us and we danced as the sun set. I felt free in this moment. I felt alive. I felt connected with the earth and all it’s beauty.
2. Machu Picchu- Peru
What kind of person would I be if I didn’t have this on my top 3 list?! Although our trip to Peru as a whole was a little disappointing, being able to see one of the wonders of the world is truly an honor and a privilege so it has to be up here. You’ll take a train to Aguas Calientes and bus alllllllll the wayyyyyy up to the ruins. This bus ride is not for those afraid of heights! You swerve up mountains on almost one way only roads. Once you get there, you go through a check point where they view your passport and check your tickets. Once you get through that you hike maybe 10 minutes up to the ruins of Machu Picchu! It’s a glorious sight. Make sure to get there bright and early as it gets polluted with people really quick.
3. All over Bali- Indonesia
God I love this place. If Bali isn’t on your bucket list STOP RIGHT NOW AND ADD IT. This is such an amazing place because so many people from all over the world come here and experience it as well. The food is AMAZING and the people are just the same as the food, AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL. We scooted around in mopeds and explored pretty much every part of the island. Canguu was definitely my favorite though. It’s this cute little beach town where all of the younger crew hangs out, eats, drinks, surfs and gets together! I would literally go back next week if I could and I know a lot of people feel the same way.
