This past weekend I had the honor and privilege of checking in to the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco. It’s a casual 5-star hotel in the heart of downtown San Francisco and just had a swanky remodel. We took the elevator up 14 floors to our Deluxe-View Room and spent the next 24 hours in total luxury.
The lobby is a classic, open space that exudes luxury. It’s on the fourth floor along with the restaurant, MKT. This 5-star hotel provides you with access to Equinox Sports Club, a high end gym with basketball, group fitness and a junior olympic pool. Equinox also has a full service spa so be sure to treat yourself when you come to the Four Seasons. The location is conveniently surrounded by shopping, dining and entertainment.
Our Deluxe-View Room was immaculate. Natural light takes over the space with floor to ceiling windows that show off the city. I love the new, modern look that the renovations provided. My absolute favorite part of the room is definitely the full marble bathroom with a large soaking tub and shower. It screams luxury.
As you can imagine, the bed was one of the comfiest I’ve experienced in a hotel. The linens provided also take the cake. From the bed to the towels and even the robe and matching slippers- I felt like I was home.
You can expect a fully stocked mini-fridge and an extensive room service menu. We opted for an afternoon ice-cream sundae “Just because” and it was the best (and only) ice-cream sundae I’ve ever had from room service. The service really is 5-stars too. Oh and the mornings aren’t so bad when there is a Nespresso Machine in each room. I mean, come on, how thoughtful is that?
MKT RESTAURANT & BAR
MKT Restaurant is located on the 4th floor with insane views of the city. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner but we opted to try it in the evening as the sun was setting. I went for a glass of Rose while Gauthier had an IPA. Once our table was ready we started off with a dozen (fresh) oysters. Their menu has a good selection of seafood dishes. I went for the lobster Mac and Cheese and it did not disappoint. Large chunks of fresh lobster… Yum.
Dessert is always the best part of a meal. We opted for a piece of their famous ricotta cheese cake surrounded with fresh berries.
One thing that really impressed me was the service. I was thrilled to hear that most employees have been since the hotel opened in 2001. That’s how you know it’s a great company to work for. Next time business or pleasure brings you to San Francisco, make sure to stay and dine at the Four Seasons. This 5-star hotel will make you feel like a queen or king during your stay. Make sure to order the Ice Cream Sundae though, you won’t be sorry.
