Palm Springs Postcard: La Serena Villas

The San Jacinto Mountains surround you in Palm Springs, but when you are at La Serena Villas I swear you could almost touch them. This is the view i’m gazing at when I sink deeply further into my outdoor clawfoot bathtub. I think to myself, “How am I ever going to leave and who would want to?”. This backdrop, this private patio and this bathtub made me fall in love with La Serena Villas like no other Boutique Hotel.

The Boutique Hotel

Any hotel can have the right amenities, but it takes hospitality and service to really win my heart. La Serena, you had me at “Would you like a complimentary glass of Chardonnay?”. Of course it’s also not just the welcome cocktail, but the customer service from beginning to end was seriously impressive. With a variety of hotels to choose from in the area, this is definitely the place to be for a more relaxing Palm Springs getaway. Here’s the scoop: It’s a 21 and over hotel with only 18 guest rooms. In addition there is a spa, rooftop lounge and a soon to be (& yummy) restaurant and bar, Azucar. We decided to walk to downtown but if you were feeling like two wheels, La Serena Villas provides complimentary bike rentals

The Villa

Remember in the beginning of this post when I said I did not want to leave? Well, it was because of you, villa #9. The vibrant colors, the wooden beams, the unique chandelier and a luxuriously comfortable king size bed all paired so beautifully. I felt completely at ease as I sipped champagne and observed the details. After we ventured downtown for dinner, we opted for a soak in their spa before we ended the evening. Staying at La Serena Villas gives you the type of comfortability like any 5-star resort. Anything they could have added for optimal comfort, well, they did. (Not Shocking) Let’s just say I lounged until checkout in the top notch bedding and of course, a La Serena Bathrobe.

The Food

Although the restaurant is not open yet that did not stop La Serena Villas from showing off their breakfast skills. As simple as a continental breakfast is, they made sure it was in La Serena Style- A colorful picnic basket filled with warm croissants, fruit, yogurt and juice. Breakfast in bed and coffee in our hand, the best. I never saw this advertised, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear it was included with the stay.

The Location

It’s in the heart of Palm Springs and we had no problem walking to dinner. We caught the street fair that goes on every week and people watched as we ate sushi on the patio of a local restaurant. Shopping, bars and restaurants are all a short walk away, a major plus for weekend getaways like ours.
