Oh February, you tend to be like a one night stand: Short and sweet. This year’s short month proved to be no different. The weekends came and went and so did the paychecks, but I don’t mind. In a few months traveling will take over (not mad about it) so a simple month like February is necessary and relaxing.
Although it was short, this month definitely was the “page turner” of the not-so-great past 9 months. When you hit rock bottom I think the best you can do is to take a step back. Pull yourself out of the negativity and just sit in limbo for a while. After my first post grad job sucked the life out of me (& the love of life) I disconnected myself. I quit my job, pulled myself out of social media outlets and focused on myself.
A month of no job (I did have a job before I quit, just took a break in between!) and a few vacations gave me time to reflect. What did I want in life? What can I do to be happier? Most importantly: What have I wanted/needed to do but haven’t done it yet? What was I waiting for?
After I had time to reboot in December and January I was surely ready to take on February. We went indoor skydiving on Valentine’s day, spent the weekend in Joshua Tree/ Palm Springs and hiked in Sedona. I revamped my blog, started a new book on slaying debt (More about that later!) and most importantly: Applied for a blogging retreat in Bali.
The best part about this month was ending it with the best news: I had been accepted to the retreat. In July I will have the opportunity to learn form Kiersten (The Blonde Abroad) & The Institute of Code crew! Out of 600 people that applied I was one of 15 selected. That was truly, the best part of February and I am so grateful to be a part of it in July!
How was your short month?
